Big Brother is watching you on Google Maps

If reading my previous blog about Google Maps didn’t convince you to abandon Mapquest, then listen up now. Google just unveiled a new satellite feature, thanks to their semi-recent acquisition of Keyhole Corporation. The service previously cost around $30 but is now available for free via http://maps.google.com. Check it out when you have a chance, you will be impressed.

What does this all have to do with orchestra management and the arts? I’m not sure exactly but the general practice of keeping up with trends in technology is an act that more managers should pay attention to in this field, especially in the years to come.
